I am trying to make use of the USB 2.0 capability listed for GPIO2 with an external USB storage device. What type of connector cable is recommended? Is it simply a 4-pin cable to female USB connected to pins 1-4?

Hello,
Most USB storage devices use a Type-A connector. If your GPIO2 interface is designed to accept USB devices, you would typically need a USB Type-A male to a connector compatible with your GPIO pins.
